FAQ
Reasonable questions.
- Does this actually give someone luck?
- We're software developers, not the universe. We make no guarantees regarding destiny, probability, interviews, exams or lottery numbers.
But somebody cared enough to send it to you, which has to count for something. - What does the money pay for?
- The experience itself — design, animation, delivery and the wonderfully unnecessary act of sending someone internet luck.
- Does any of the money go to charity?
- Yes. 10% of our profits go to good causes around the world. That's 10% of what's left after payment fees, delivery, hosting and running costs. Details on the About page.
- Why would anyone spend $100?
- We've been asking ourselves the same question. (It does unlock a considerably more ridiculous arrival. The outcome, sadly, stays the same.)
- What's the difference between $1, $5 and $100?
- Only the experience: the ceremony gets longer, brighter and funnier. Nothing about real-world odds changes at any price.
- Can I send anonymously?
- Yes. Tick “Send anonymously” and they'll see “Someone rooting for you.” We never show your email to the recipient.
- What will they receive?
- An email that says someone sent them luck, with a button to open it. The personal message is only revealed on the LuckDrop page, after they hold the orb.
- Is my message private?
- Yes. It's only visible to whoever has the private link we email the recipient. It's never put in link previews, and it only appears on a public share card if the recipient chooses to include it.
- Can I get a refund?
- LuckDrops are delivered right after payment, so they're generally non-refundable once sent. If something went wrong — a typo in the email address, a delivery failure, a duplicate charge — email us and we'll make it right: resend it, redirect it, or refund it.
- Someone sent me something I didn't want.
- Every LuckDrop page has a “Report this LuckDrop” link, and every email has a link to block future LuckDrops to your address. We act on reports.
- Which payment methods work?
- Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and — where your device supports it — Apple Pay and Google Pay, via Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
